You are correct, it all depends on the specific company and its size. It can range from highly profitable to a money losing operation. Most larger companies try for a profit of 20-25% of gross revenues after all expenses, incl. G%26amp;A, salaries, advertising, etc.
But a little 1-man company may try to keep all of his expenses in the 20-25% range and his gross profit and earnings then would be in the 75-80% range for his labor and efforts.
