Does my management company have to install window screens in my apartment?

I just moved into a new apartment in December. Now that the weather is getting nice, I want to open up the windows and get some fresh air, but I've realized that only 2 out of my 4 windows have screens on them. I called the management company and explained that I wanted the other two installed, but they said it wasn't their responsibility. She claimed it was the previous tenants' responsibility. This has never been the case in any of the other apartments I've lived in. Just wondering what my rights are, and if I should demand that they install them.Does my management company have to install window screens in my apartment?
Most states require screens, by law.

If you are unsure if your state has a law covering them call the health department, this is a health issue. They should also be able to provide you with some documentation to provide your landlord.Does my management company have to install window screens in my apartment?
It depends on your apartment's contract. In my previous apartment, I paid a downpayment for the reconstruction cost and they returned it as I closed my contract. On other apartments, they don't have that same contract.Does my management company have to install window screens in my apartment?
If your lease says that all windows must have screens, then the property management company is responsible for installing them. If your lease does not mention screens, then it's not their responsibility. In that case, if you want them on the other two windows, ask them if you can install them yourself. I rented a house in Texas and only the windows in the front of the house (living room and one of the bedrooms) had screens. The windows in the back of the house did not have them.
