I live in a apartment and the management staff and even home office have all but flat out refused to fix the leak in my ceiling. Isn't their some type of law against this, if so where can I find it? Is their anything that I can do about this?What to do about a bad housing management situation?
Yes there are proper legal procedures to force landlords to make needed repairs. The steps
vary by state. The 1st required step in most states is to send a certified letter stating the needed repairs. Just talking to them about it does not cut it. The letter is needed for legal proof they know about it before you can take any legal action. Your local housing authority should be able to tell you the rest of the process for your state.
