Explain what is performance management and explain why it is important for a business to monitor the performance of employees?

This is not a long answer. Performance Management is used by an employer to find out if its employees are carrying out their roles in the way envisaged. You would be asked questions about how you think you are doing in your role, and if you are happy, and if there is any way in which it could be improved. Your answers, used in conjunction with answers from others allows the company to improve production, work practises and work satisfaction etc.
