What are the specific benefits of having an inventory management system?
I must convince the people in the Demand planning department and Production planning department that inventory management is a beneficial and necessary process for the company. They think when demand and production is planned, inventory is also managed by itself. What can I tell them to convince them it is necessary? What are the specific benefits of having an inventory management system?
Inventory does not manage itself. It has to be managed closely in order to maintain appropriate levels of product. It also depends on what type of inventory system you're using. ie. FIFO, LIFO, etc. If you want a good example of inventory management, look up Dell's just-in-time system. It is considered the most efficient and cost-effective system right now and that's one of the biggest reasons why they are at the top of their game now. What are the specific benefits of having an inventory management system?

What jobs would a bachelors degree in marketing or management give me?
-What jobs can I get with a bachelors degree in marketing?
-What jobs can I get with a bachelors degree in management?
-Is it not a good idea to major in business before business school?
-What should I do for bachelors and masters if I want to become an rich executive of a big company one day? What jobs would a bachelors degree in marketing or management give me?
To become a big executive you will definitely need an MBA and experience. You could also just be innovative and start your own company. It takes a lot of hard work and you will have to start really small but that is how a lot of really rich people got really rich. Many big name companies started as just a little kiosk. This is easy to fail at though, so make sure you know what you're doing.
There are many jobs in marketing but it is very competitive and you often need to start with the ground up. Management you need experience for, so just get the jobs you can while you are in and out of school and do your best--stand out.
It is never a bad idea to major in business before business school. This gives you prior knowledge and a business bachelor's is different from an MBA. MBA is more real-world. You don't want to go to business school with no prior knowledge of business. A degree in General Business with a minor in marketing or communication etc is a great place to start. Depends on what you're interested in. Finance and accounting are always great choices as well.
Also when it comes to school--don't just go through the motions to get a good grade. Really try to learn the stuff and think in your head how you can use it to your advantage. So many times I've wished that I could remember stuff from class. Really learn your stuff. Also, make sure to do outside work. Learn another language, ask people that have done what you want to do. They are the ones that really know--they've done it!
